Fall Special
On Prince Edward Island, our story doesn’t end with the turning of leaves. Come visit our cottages during the fall season to experience PEI like you have never before!
Fall Flavours
2009 is unlike any other year to visit PEI with its Fall Flavours events returning for another year. If you are a fan of culinary tourism and adventure, then come visit our island during the dates of September 25th to October 4, 2009 and prepare for a week of great food and fun!
Farmers Markets are booming and buzzing during September as it truly is the best time for food on PEI. Oysters are at their prime during the cooler months (a famous PEI rule is that you only eat oysters during months that end in “er”) and veggie gardens are reaching their peak. Just a reminder: you don’t need to be in Charlottetown at the festival to be enjoying great food on PEI, go to the locals for the best stuff around.
Fall colors
“Canada’s Green Province” soon becomes “Canada’s Red, Yellow and Orange Province” during the transition between summer and fall. To experience the foliage, visit our island between mid-september to late-october.
It’s like summer, only better
The crisp fall air and the absence of bugs make having your morning cup of coffee much more enjoyable in the fall then in the summer. Kayaking and canoeing can also be enjoyed in the fall and the cooler air and favorable tides makes it even more fun.
Many tourists flock to the many wool blanket and sweater companies to buy something to cozy up to in the fall. Check out MacAusland’s Wollen Mill and Rustico Bay Wool Sweater Company to see what they have to offer!
Its not like your going to need a tonne of blankets as PEI’s weather remains relatively warms during the fall because the ocean surrounding us is like a giant thermal blanket. The temperature in September averages +13.7º and +7.8º in October. Do pack a sweater, but don’t expect to be shivering.
